What Is Normal?

Initially:

  • Bleeding, swelling, tenderness, bruising

During healing:

  • Itching

  • Clear or whitish-yellow discharge (not pus)

  • Light crusting on jewelry

Once healed:

  • Jewelry may feel snug—do not force movement

Healing occurs from the outside in, so continue care even if it feels healed.

What To Do

  • Wash hands before touching your piercing

  • Do not rotate or fidget with jewelry

  • Keep bedding clean

  • Wear breathable clothing

  • Shower instead of bathing when possible

⚠️ Do not remove jewelry during healing—piercings can close quickly.
